Antoninus Pius as Caesar. (138 AD). Orichalcum dupondius (16.64 gm). 
Rome. IMP T AELIVS CAE – SAR ANTONINVS, bare head right / PIE – TAS 
and S – C across field, TRIB POT COS around, Pietas, veiled, 
standing right, raising right hand and holding incense box in left 
above lighted and garlanded altar. BMCRE 1949 note. Cohen 601. RIC 
1090. Strack 902 (Paris and Vienna). From the same dies as the 
Vienna specimen. Very rare; perhaps the third known specimen of this 
particular variety. Extremely beautiful portrait. Glossy olive 
patina. Mint state.
